  • THE FRIZZ SLAYER – HAIR MASK

Should I use the mask on wet or dry hair?

You can use the mask on both wet and dry hair. With dry hair simply apply a liberal amount, leave it on for at least 15 minutes, or even overnight if desired in our micro-fibre hair towel, then rinse out in the morning with cool/luke-warm water. With wet hair, after shampooing, apply the hair mask in replacement to conditioner, leave in for 10-15 minutes, then rinse out in cool/luke-warm water. Experiment and find out what best suits your hair type and texture.

How do I apply the mask?

In wet hair, apply mask after shampooing, leave in for 10-15 minutes, wash out thoroughly then dry and style as usual. For a dry hair treatment, apply liberally to dry hair, leave in for 15 minutes or overnight (wrapped in our microfibre hair towel) then wash out thoroughly in the morning to then dry and style as usual.

    How much do I apply?

This will depend on your hair type and length. For longer hair apply more, for shorter hair apply less. For oily hair types also apply less and only from mids to ends. For dry textured hair apply more with a more generous distribution.

How long do I leave the mask in my hair?

Anywhere between 10-15 minutes, or for a deeper condition, leave-in overnight.

Can I sleep with the mask in my hair?

    Yes, most definitely.

How often should I use the mask?

With dry textured hair, use 2-3 times per week, normal hair 1-2 times per week and oily hair, once a week focusing on mid to end avoiding the scalp.

What benefits does the mask offer me?

    • Frizz Control
    • Deep conditions and locks in moisture
    • Nourishment to help style and manage your hair
    • Strength for growth enhancement
    • Hydration for repair and shine

Is the mask vegan and cruelty free?

    Yes, and yes :)

    Is the packaging recyclable?

    Yes, PP number 5, recyclable.

What hair type is the mask suitable for?

Our mask ingredients are suitable for all hair types.

Can I use the mask on coloured hair?

Yes, the mask is safe to use on coloured or chemically treated hair.

Will my hair be oily/greasy after use?

Our mask will deeply condition your hair without weighing it down or making it look greasy. If your hair type is oily, we recommend focusing the mask on your mid to ends to avoid the scalp and be sure to thoroughly wash out your hair with luke-warm water.

What is the shelf life of the mask?

Typical shelf life at room temperature and out of direct sunlight is 12 months after opening, but we are sure you will use up your jar well before then.

Why is a hair conditioner not enough?

A mask with its thicker formula will tackle hair concerns from the inside out, whilst a conditioner will focus on the hair cuticle layer. A conditioner will also provide an instant hit of hydration and improvement whilst a mask will have longer lasting improvements in shine, softness and strength. Both are necessary in a healthy hair care routine – your hair needs nourishment from both inside and out – it’s like using both a moisturiser and mask on your face, both are necessary in a healthy routine.

What are the hero ingredients in the mask?

Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter*, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil**, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil**, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract*, Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5)

  • HYDRATE SHAMPOO

What hair type is the shampoo suitable for?

Our shampoo is suitable for all hair types and colours.

How often should I use the shampoo?

This all depends on your hair type and product build up. Some people wash their hair daily, others once a week, and anything else in between. Our shampoo is gentle enough to be used daily if desired.

How much shampoo should I use on my hair?

How much you use will depend on the density, porosity, and length of your hair and also the level of any styling products in your hair. On average 1-2 pumps for fine hair, 2-3 for medium hair and 3-4 for thick hair.

How do I use the shampoo?

    • Apply an appropriate amount of shampoo into your palm, lather then massage into your wet hair and scalp, using circular motions to stimulate hair growth and activate cleansing.
    • Rinse thoroughly and repeat.
    • Follow up with the Kus Culture® Hydrate Conditioner or Frizz Slayer Hair Mask.

    Should I “double-shampoo” my hair?

Yes. Double-shampoo refers to the process of cleansing your hair twice in the same routine - the first shampoo helps remove dirt and oil by breaking it down, and the second shampoo helps to completely remove it to ensure the nourishing benefits of the shampoo are imparted in your hair and scalp.

Will the shampoo make my hair dry and knotty?

Not at all. The shampoo has been formulated to deeply clean with gentle and conditioning cleansers, to penetrate the hair strands and not just the surface, to leave your hair feeling clean and hydrated.

What benefits does the shampoo offer me?

    • Gentle plant/naturally derived cleansers to penetrate beneath hair cuticle.
    • Hydration and sebum balance.
    • Enhanced colour retention, improve style and body

What is the shelf life of the shampoo?

Typical shelf life at room temperature and out of direct sunlight is 12 months after opening, but we are sure you will use up your bottle well before then.

Can I use the shampoo on coloured hair?

Yes, the shampoo is safe for coloured or chemically treated hair.

    Is the shampoo sulphate free?

    Yes

Why are sulphates “bad” for my hair?

Sulphates are detergents made of sulphur containing mineral salts that make shampoo turn into a thick lather and foam. The most common are Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS), Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLES) and Ammonium Lauryl Sulphate (ALS) and are used in most household cleaning products. Sulphates are very harsh on the skin/scalp/hair and can strip it of moisture and its natural oils and is a known skin irritant. At Kus Culture® we use a gentle blend of plant derived surfactants (cleansers) which lather and foam just as effectively and are much gentler on your skin/scalp/hair.

Is the shampoo vegan and cruelty free?

    Yes, and yes :)

    Is the packaging recyclable?

    Yes, HDPE, recyclable.

What are the hero ingredients in the shampoo?

Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice*, Panthenol (Provitamin B5), Hydrolyzed Quinoa**, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract**, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract**

  • JOJOBA & MINT – HAIR SERUM

Should I use the serum on wet, damp or dry hair?

Everyone has a different way to use our serum, there is no right or wrong way. For better absorption apply to wet or damp hair. To create a finish with a silky sheen, and smooth down any frizz, apply the serum on dry hair. Best thing to do is experiment and see what works best for your type of hair and texture.

How much serum should I use on my hair?

1-2 pumps for fine hair, 2-3 for medium hair and 3-4 for thick hair.

Should I use the serum root to tips?

Your mid-lengths to ends are more prone to dryness so this is where we recommend applying the serum to.

Will the serum make my hair greasy?

The serum has been formulated to penetrate the hair strands and not just coat the surface, so using the right amount for your hair type will absorb and not leave your hair greasy. For example, if you have an oiler hair type, use 1-2 pumps only on your mid to ends, or use on damp hair to enhance absorption.

Can I use the serum daily?

A little goes a long way, so yes you can use the serum daily, how much you use will depend on the density and porosity of your hair.

What benefits does the serum offer me?

    • Adds shine,
    • Controls frizz,
    • Moisturises and strengthens the hair.

What hair type is the serum suitable for?

Our serum ingredients are suitable for all hair types.

Can I use the serum on coloured hair?

Yes, the serum is safe for coloured or chemically treated hair.

Is the serum vegan and cruelty free?

    Yes, and yes :)

    Is the packaging recyclable?

    Yes, recyclable.

    Does the serum contain silicone?

    • Yes, and do not be afraid as silicones are beneficial in styling products but not in shampoos/conditioners/masks…
      • Cyclopentasiloxane- functions mainly as a conditioning agent and to act as a carrying agent for other ingredients. It is also used to help reduce blow drying time and to help protect against heated styling tools as well as enhancing wet and dry combing. It is used to help deliver and spread other ingredients to hair. As it is a volatile silicone derivative, it evaporates upon application after delivering all the key ingredients that provide moisture and shine.
      • Dimethicone/Dimethiconol – easily washable/water soluble silicones providing lubricity, smoothness, shine and moisturising, without clogging pores or weighing hair down, but with the added benefit of protecting from UV radiation.

What are the hero ingredients in the serum?

Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Oil*, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract**, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Seabuckthorn) Seed Oil*, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract*.

How do I use the spray?

Wet or dry, section your hair and spritz a little evenly from an arm’s length distance before blow drying or using heat tools. Reapply before adding additional heat to hair. The spray works by creating a barrier around the hair, so when heat is applied, it ‘burns’ the spray and not your hair.

Up to what temperature does the spray protect my hair?

Yes, up to 230 degrees C, dependant on hair type/texture, individual discretion advised and recommended.

Why is there alcohol in the spray formula?

This ingredient helps to reduce drying time and increases fixation to ensure your hair is protected and the spray functions as intended, to protect your hair from heat (from sun and tools).

How does the spray protect my hair from heat?

Our unique formula has UV protectant ingredients to shield your hair from the suns UV rays, plus a combination of essential oils and a smidgeon of a water-soluble silicone combination (meaning it doesn’t build up on your hair as you can wash it out with a normal shampoo) to protect your hair from heat tools. The functional cosmetic grade silicone blend, imparts a soft silky feel & shine to the hair, helps to protect hair against heat, is lightweight and has excellent spreading capability, offering less tackiness, more conditioning, and ultimate protection.

  • MICROFIBRE TOWEL

How do I use this towel?

    • Tip your head and hair forward holding the towel in both hands with the button facing upwards at the back of your neck, positioning the towel around the back of your head until the towel is fully covering your hair.
    • Gather all your hair inside the towel, twisting the front section into a coil, then bring the twist round to the nape of your neck and loop the elastic around the button.

Why should I use this towel?

If you leave hair wet for too long, the stretch in the hair itself can change the cuticles, leaving them bent and raised. Rubbing the hair with a regular towel to dry can cause damage to the cuticles through friction, and if you blast with too much heat, this can cause damage too. When cuticles are damaged the hair becomes frizzy. Hair needs to dry quickly without stretch, rub or heat which is exactly what wrapping the hair in the Microfibre Hair Towel will achieve.

What benefits does this towel provide me?

    • Dries hair quickly and easily, compared to ordinary cotton towels.
    • Reduces blow dry time.
    • Effectively absorbs water.
    • Minimises hair friction that can lead to hair damage.
    • Helps to decrease frizz and fly-aways.
    • Super soft and delicate on your hair.
    • Easy to use
    • Machine washable
    • Great to use with our Frizz Slayer hair mask as a treatment.

Is the towel suitable for all hair types?

    Yes

How do I wash my towel?

Machine wash in warm or cold water with a mild detergent. Do not use fabric softener or bleach, air dry only - fabric softeners clog the pores of the microfibre, and bleach is too harsh.
